I have a lot of old ska records - mid to late 60's as a matter of fact. Most people think of Ska as bands like Rancid or most of the punk ska, which I listen to, but my favorite Ska is the old stuff... Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, Lord Tanamo or the original Wailing Wailers.
Last night I downloaded "Guns of Navarone - The Best of the Skatalites." Besides the Trojan Box Set, this is a good primer. Enjoy, I sure am.

What about good old Brew Town Ska? What about the Invaders? Skankin' Pickle? Mustard Plug? Dance Hall Crashers? Yeah. Good stuff.
DCS, I'm glad to see you know all that stuff :) Skankin' Pickle... I haven't heard of them in forever. I did see hepcat in the smaller bar venue that the Rave has.... it was a great show.
Saw Mustard Plug at the Rave Bar about 7 or 8 years ago. Danced on stage with them. It was a good time.
You mean Ska isn't about the Mighty Mighty Bosstones?
And it isn't about Blondie, either - check it:
