Never, Ever, Ever Underestimate Motivation

And the will to live.

Your thoughts have a direct effect on your body and your health. I have seen this in action in myself and in others.

If one is imprisoned from the outside one is - most of the time - imprisoned from the inside. The stigma of society and a loud crime that puts a person on notice in the community is in itself, imprisonment. That turning inward, isolation, and hyperfocus on oneself is damaging. When you can't engage with the outside world and discharge through normal, lawful, non-evil and healthy interactions, you better believe the effect is going to be self-destructive.

That said. Billy Lee Morford will be a free man on December 26th. Why? Because he's gonna die anyway. Apparently.

I disagree. Just watch. He will offend again - he might have to move out of state to do it under the auspices of making a fresh start - but this man is far from dead.

Underestimating offenders like Billy Lee Morford is ignorance collectively personified. At least among the group-thinkers that dismiss his threat to society. To the rest of us who aren't pointy-headed intellectuals with government dole jobs or government consultancy...to the rest of us who live normal lives....to the rest of us who care about the integrity of our society and safety... know that this cannot be dismissed, dumbed-down, swept under the rug, appeased, accepted, or rehabilitated. We are not wrong.

And there is no shame in denying him rights forever. No punishment will ever fit his crimes.

You have this issue pegged. Our problem in this case is that the DA's office apparently became tired of this case and let it go. The details are scary. One doc cited in court said Morford has a five year life expectancy. One said a year. From what I can tell, none of them actually physically examined the monster.

But in a week he'll be free to get a hamburger or roam the grocery store.

And with only a year to live, what's the harm in snatching an 8 year old?

I'd like to see someone get Morford on video after he is free and put it up on YouTube for the world to see. Then we will know for sure just how wrong (or right) the DA and the doctors that said this guy is not a threat.

If he is only expected to live another year, why in the world did the court system not keep his case wrapped up in letigation and red tape until he passed away?

In the Good Old Days, Morford would have found his eternal reward via an enraged father or older brother--and a S&W .375 magnum.

Shit happened back then...

Given his age... I have to wonder. Does he qualify for Medicaid... and does Medicaid still provide Viagra?

Only a S&W .375 magnum? Don't exclude other weapons like.... a Springfield .45 V-16 or perhaps a 9mm Beretta.

The more I think about this, I find it hard to believe that all is lost. I don't think that we are without option on Morford and that a negligence lawsuit could be filed against the people who said he was just fine and dandy to release. It doesn't prevent him from hurting anyone, but I think the point needs to be made.

Where the hell is Doyle on all of this, anyway? Where the hell is Barrett?

Part of me wonders if someone will pull a Dahmer on him, I seriously wonder about that. Words are powerful and I understand I take a risk by writing those words, but we are getting to a point where the law stands in the way of Justice. The two are now mutually exclusive. There is frustration about protecting and favoring the criminal's rights over those of the victims - remember victims? The people who are actually punished in this whole scenario?

If we are to let nature take its course on the path for Morford, that he's a harmless dying ball of fuzz, I say that we also let nature take its course if someone decides to administer justice of their own.

In the meantime I wonder this, does all the attention on Morford tell other pervs that their actions will be a)rewarded b)condemned by outrage or c)that everyone's looking at Morford, so the coast is clear for them???

Sometimes it's too much for me to think about because I can't relate to it. It doesn't follow logic or the laws of gravity. All I know is that something is very, very, very wrong and unacceptable here. I feel defenseless in the face of it. What if someone hurt me or my future family? What recourse is there for me?
