Capt. William Nowak

...director of the Milwaukee Fire Department Dive Rescue Team, on stupid people surfing down the river:
"This is not the Kalahari at Wisconsin Dells here," Nowak said. "If you get caught up in that, you're in big trouble....

"What you have is a big toxic cesspool coming down the river. You have farm runoff, pesticides, overflow, poop, sewer dumping, speed, velocity and temperature," he said. "Not good."

He also discouraged kayakers and canoeists from trying to navigate the water.

This means YOU - apparent adults who voluntarily put your children in harm's way. You should be charged for what it cost us to rescue you (in a time when the state is already billions in the hole in flood damages), and you should be charged with child endangerment. Stick with drinking your stupid mimosas on your stupid deck. At least your kids are on dry land and have a chance to run away from you and your stupidity.

Hey...what's wrong with mimosas on the deck?

Seriously, what, in the last 30 years of American society makes you think people actually care about their children. Children are just trinkets to be shown off or bragged about for most people. Raise them? Leave that to someone else. We got "stuff" to buy and places to go.
