- First is the listing of the ethnicity of the men. You just don't get that out of presstitutes anymore if the perps are of a sufficiently-dark hue. Side note; masks do not cover everything, even on the face.
- Second, the claims that the motives are unclear. Of course, it's unknown whether they intended to rob the clerk or kill him, but they definitely weren't there to buy some Red Bull.
Chuck Connors was actually as good in real life as he was on TV with the rifle...he actually DID "spin" the rifles to chamber the next round, and always hit what he pointed at.
bingo, Kate. Associating a lever-action rifle with something very violent, as opposed to simply stating what kind of gun was used. Even the direct reference is odd. Usually when people are held up or shot, the JS hardly ever refers to the type of gun.
The reference is presented in an anti-gun, anti-lever action rifle manner.

My first thought is if they were masked, how do you know they are African-American?
Their motives were unclear???
There's actually a pair of oddities:

these are all good and true observations... but not exactly what jumped out at me....
The reference to the Rifleman is what hit me when I read it.

And he used a highly modified loop on his .30-30.
He kept a few of them after the series was over.
Ex MLB pitcher, too!
