It Must Be A Slow News Day
Because the JS dragged this little number out of the card files.
Really, this is a display of nothing better to do with one's time.
We're trying to move this city forward. When we make a step forward, don't pull us back. Believe me, we have plenty of people in this city who already do that. They're part of the problem, they ruin it for everyone else who wants to move forward, and the JS is joining them.

You mean you can't just flip a switch an make everything magically better? I'm shocked.
Actually... this really sad because there has been so much change in parts of Milwaukee over the last 10 years... I'm really quite amazed at how much progress has been made, despite the amount of violence that still occurs.
Reminds me of the Citizen Kang espisode from The Simpson's portraying Bill Clinton.
We're moving forwards not backwards, backwards, never sideways, but always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom
On 2nd thought I think that was Bob Dole, matters not who, what a great political triumph.
Another great line there, "sure go ahead and waste your vote on a 3rd party candidate"
Please forgive me if I'm wrong, but it seems you're critizing JS for reporting that there was poverty and there still is poverty. What, they aren't to report the truth, just sugarcoat it so that we can pretend everything is OK? Also, remember that adage about those who don't remember the past are doomed to repeat it.
Good thing we've poured so much money into fighting the "war on poverty" over the last couple of decades.
The key part of the article for me were the "barriers" people put in front of them that keep these people from getting jobs....like criminal records and not being able to pass a drug test ("Many have criminal records, have no driver's license or can't pass a drug test. ").
Seems they have money for certain things, but how much money is it going to take to make right choices?
